Margarete Trudeau was paid starting when? Hm.

The Kielburgers actually said this?
"What Margaret Trudeau, for example, had in fact been paid for was hosting after-parties, attending receptions and holding autograph sessions on the same day as the speeches." https://t.co/UJBsKIoqtt

Moments ago @marckielburger just informed the Commons finance committee that in addition to the $312,000 paid to Margaret Trudeau for speaking at WE Day events she was reimbursed an additional $167,944 in expenses. So a total of $479,944. #cdnpoli #WEscandal pic.twitter.com/XgeLXjdaIG

Receipt for payment to trudeau’s mother for speaking to her speaking agency
The Kielburgers again say they did not pay Margaret Trudeau to speak at WE Day, but for other things.
Here is one of her invoices. It's for her "Speakers' Fee" from her speaking agency. No other service is billed. Date of the service is the date of the WE Day she spoke at. pic.twitter.com/yXYGQD6SJB

Not registered as a lobbyist you say?
I'm surprised that @craigkielburger just testified that they don't have staff that works specifically on Government Relations because in November, they advertised to hire someone as "Manager, Government Relations."
No mention of Stakeholder Relations.

SHAMELESS: Instead of asking questions of the Kielburger Brothers, Liberal MP Koutrakis cedes her valuable committee time to the disgraced witnesses to clear up any "misconceptions." Completely open floor.

Going to get a public inquiry
The feds are going yield to calls for a public inquiry eventually. The only question is how much political capital they're going to expend, how much suspicion they're going to allow to fester, and how much anguish for the families they're going to tolerate until then https://t.co/aVZdZ9CEXZ

Should anyone, let alone Margaret Trudeau, be paid many thousands of dollars for doing an autograph-signing session? That’s what the K brothers were trying to say she was paid for, along with speaking of course. Did she teach the audience to holler “Fuck You!!!!” ??? That is worth $500 000 for sure. But none of it should be the Canadian government’s money. I don’t find any of this to be what a wonderful charity should be doing at all. Where are the Canadian youth that have been helped?
And somebody is a really good reporter digging up about the rich Chinese kids benefitting from WE money. It ties in with Trudeau just beautifully. Very entertaining, all of it.

Noted that Mark expressed his dilemma about his waning support for the Progressive Conservatives under Doug Ford. He indicated that he will have difficulty voting for the party again in the next election but doesn’t know of an actual conservative party in Ontario. Suggest he start a conversation with some of the Ontario ex-candidates running for the federal PPC to see if there is any appetite to starting a new provincial party like the PPC, although I suggest a name less associated with the Peoples Republic of China.
He is apparently willing to become a politician since he ran as a candidate for the PPC. He might have a better chance leading a political party than Max Bernier who has problems with spoken English while there is no issue of bilingualism in Ontario for party leaders. I think Mark and most of the Ontario PPC candidates would be a powerful force in the Province.
I hesitate to suggest this because I’m hoping he and the others will throw their hats in the ring for the next federal election under the PPC banner.
Ontario first party?

I love Bernier and am in a remote area here in NB, so I am removed from most Canadian issues and it’s difficult to keep up with them. You are right that the PPC needs to work toward getting more support in Ontario and that Mark is a great answer . I hope Mark will maybe work towards changing the name of the PPC as well..Cdnguy is right that “Ontario First Party” would be better. Mark is a strong voice in politics and many people like him.
I am praying that Max will move to Alberta and get enough votes to get a seat there.
Also, if I am remembering it correctly, M Bernier’s daughter helped him name his party ‘the PPC’, so he will probably want to keep the name for sentimental reasons for a while.
I may have mentioned it here but when max was looking for a name I thought “Canadian independent party” would’ve been a good name.
